Situated within the vibrant Killester Village, Easra Court is a notable development spanning approximately 0.194 hectares (0.48 acres). This mixed-use project comprises 67 apartments, offering a selection of one, two, and three-bedroom units, thoughtfully designed over seven floors with two recessed upper levels.
This seven-storey residential building is constructed using a precast concrete cross-wall structure, starting from the Ground Floor Level. The design incorporates solid internal and external precast walls with composite prestressed slabs that follow the building’s architectural layout. Steel beams are used where needed to reduce slab spans or transfer concentrated loads.
• External steel frame balconies are designed separately by others.
Structural Design & Load Transfer
• Precast Concrete Walls: These provide support for the slabs, stairs, and other structural elements while also contributing to the building’s lateral stability.
• Flooring System: Precast wideslab units with structural screed topping span between precast walls and steel beams at each floor level.
• Vertical Load Transfer: The structure efficiently transfers loads through precast walls, steel beams, and slabs, ensuring stability and durability.
Horizontal Load Transfer
• Wind and Notional Horizontal Loads are managed through precast shear walls and the screeded wideslab floor deck, which acts as a diaphragm to stabilize the structure.
• Temporary Erection Condition: During construction, precast floors, walls, steel beams, and columns distribute loads with temporary propping in place until all connections are completed.
This project highlights the benefits of precast concrete, delivering a robust, efficient, and time-effective construction solution for modern residential buildings.
